Know where to go
Your design workspace and store admin
HyDev brings your website project and available design tools together. Your store has its own admin for day-to-day operations. Each workspace checks its own account access.
HyDev
Find your projects and sites, open an available draft, review previews, and use the design controls enabled for that site.
Open the design workspaceYour store admin
Manage the store’s products, orders, fulfillment, settings, and enabled integrations. Use the store-specific link provided at handoff.
Follow the store sign-in stepsA site that shows Open store admin is managed through its native store tools. Its design canvas may be unavailable in HyDev. The controls shown for your selected site determine what you can edit there.
Step 1
Complete your intake
- Open the intake link supplied for your project. Use the latest link if HyDev has issued a replacement.
- Enter your business details, contact information, requested domain, branding, logo, pages, and operational preferences. Complete the required fields in each step.
- Review your answers and submit. Keep your project reference so the team can identify your request.
After submission, the team reviews your brief before generation. Generation, review, domain connection, and public launch are separate steps. An intake confirmation means your brief was received.
Step 2
Sign in to HyDev
- Open HyDev and follow the sign-in screen if prompted.
- Use the HyDev account that was invited or granted access to your project. If you received an access invitation, follow its instructions using that account.
- Look under Your Projects and Your Sites. Choose the appropriate site, or use the site selector at the top of the workspace.
If your project or site is missing, ask the project owner or your HyDev contact to check the account and assignment. Submitting an intake or receiving an email alone does not grant workspace access.
Step 3
Edit an available website draft
These steps apply when your selected site exposes editing controls. If the site offers Open store admin, continue in your store admin for its supported changes.
- Select your site, then choose the section and page from the top bar.
- Use Edit to select content on the canvas. Select the text or element you want to change, then use the available editing controls.
- Open Design for site styling. Use Properties for the selected element’s style, spacing, layout, and link settings.
- Use AI Design when available to request a design change. Review the result, including text, links, and layout.
- Check the workspace’s save or status feedback before leaving. Reopen the preview to confirm the changes you expect to review are present.
Desktop, tablet, and mobile controls help you inspect the layout at different sizes. On smaller screens, open Properties when you need to adjust a selected element.
Step 4
Review the current preview
Open the preview action supplied in HyDev for your selected site. If the team supplies a review link, use the current link and the account it was shared with. Private previews may require authorization.
- Check the business name, logo, colors, headings, product information, contact details, and requested pages.
- Inspect desktop and mobile layouts. Check navigation and visible calls to action.
- Report the page, what you expected, and what needs to change. Include a screenshot and the project reference when useful.
A preview is for reviewing the draft. Store actions such as checkout or order updates may be unavailable in the review environment. Manage real operational data in the authorized store admin.
If a preview is missing or unavailable, open it again from the current site entry. Send the visible error to your HyDev contact if it still fails.
Step 5
Open your actual store admin
- After the live release is verified, use Open store admin in HyDev when it appears, or the Owner admin link supplied with your handoff.
- For first access, follow the separate secure password-setup message if one has been issued to your authorized owner email.
- Sign in with the administrator handle assigned to your store and the password you chose. Use the login screen’s recovery option if you need to reset it.
- Confirm the store name before editing products, orders, shipping, settings, or integrations.
The live store admin address normally ends in /admin/ on your store’s own domain. Until setup and release verification are complete, HyDev may show a pending message instead of an admin link.
Owner access and staff sign-in
Store owners use the store’s administrator sign-in. A Global staff sign-in link, where shown, is for team members who already have the required staff access. It does not create an owner account or add store permissions.
Give your team the right access
Decide what each teammate needs to do before requesting access. Keep the HyDev design assignment and the store administrator assignment specific to their work.
| Task | Access to arrange |
|---|---|
| Review or edit a site | Access to that site in HyDev for the teammate’s intended account. Follow any invitation acceptance steps. |
| Manage products or orders | An authorized account in that store’s admin, with the role needed for the work. |
| Use a connected hyApp | Access to that particular app and the relevant project or business data. |
Use the team controls available to your role, or ask the owner or your HyDev contact to arrange access. Each person should sign in with their own account.
Use your enabled features and hyApps
Your package, site type, role, and setup determine which features appear. Open an available tool from the workspace where it is offered. Some tools require a separate account assignment or connection.
- For website content and appearance, start in the selected site’s design tools.
- For products, orders, fulfillment, and store connections, start in your store admin.
- For an additional hyApp or a missing feature, ask your HyDev contact to confirm what your project includes and which account needs access.
Requesting a feature in the intake records what you want. The feature is ready to use when its setup and access are complete.
Prepare for launch and handoff
- Review the current draft and resolve the requested changes with the team.
- Confirm the domain, owner contact, required pages, store settings, and agreed integrations.
- Complete the owner access and connection steps supplied by HyDev.
- Follow the publication or managed release process shown for your project. A Publish action may require further review before the public site changes.
- After the team confirms the live release, open the public site and the owner admin link. Confirm that each leads to your intended business.
Keep the live site URL, HyDev workspace link, owner admin link, and project reference together. Save this guide for future edits and team onboarding.
Emails to expect
Messages depend on your project’s stage and completed setup. Use the latest valid links and check the recipient address if a message seems to be missing.
| Message | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| Intake invitation | Open your project’s intake and submit the requested business and website details. |
| Intake received | Your submitted brief is awaiting team review. Generation and launch are later steps. |
| Preview ready | A generated draft is available for review. Open the current authorized preview and return your feedback. |
| Owner password setup | If issued, use the secure link to choose a password for the authorized store administrator. This is separate from signing in to HyDev. |
| Site live / handoff | Open the verified public site and its store admin. Use your completed owner setup to sign in. |
If an expected message does not arrive, check spam and search for “HyDev” or your business name. Ask your HyDev contact to check the send outcome before requesting another message.
Troubleshooting and support
I can sign in, but my site is missing.
Confirm that you used the account invited to the project. Ask the owner or HyDev to check the site assignment for that account. Include the project reference and the sign-in email; do not send your password.
I can open HyDev, but the store admin rejects my login.
HyDev and the store use separate access checks. Open the owner admin link for the correct store and use that store’s administrator handle and password. Complete the owner setup email if it was issued, or use the recovery option on the store login screen.
The store admin link is unavailable.
The site may still be awaiting owner setup, release, or live verification. Use the pending status shown in HyDev and ask your project contact what remains. A preview-ready message does not mean the live admin handoff is complete.
My preview link is unavailable or shows old work.
Open the preview again from the selected site in HyDev or ask the team for its current review link. Include the page name and visible error or unexpected content when reporting the issue.
I cannot edit a product or place an order in the preview.
The review environment may expose only the draft’s appearance and navigation. Use the real store admin for operational changes. Ask HyDev which test flow to use if you need to review purchasing or fulfillment.
A setup or invitation link has expired.
Use the relevant account’s recovery option or ask the owner or HyDev to issue a replacement. Check that you are using the latest message and the intended account.
A feature or hyApp is missing.
Ask HyDev to confirm the feature’s availability for your project, its setup status, and your account’s role. Include the feature name and where you expected to find it.
